In most cases, it was seen that the chairman of the rural banks refer the matters related to staff interest to the PNB for hanging up and sometimes they only makes excuses that the certain staff related matter has been forwarded to pnb to resolve for pending the issues. In view of the same, the AIRRBEA central Committee led by Dada Dilip Mukherjee In 1990-91, it was decided to set up committees at the sponsor bank level, in which Joint forum of PNB sponsored RRB Unions were headed by APS Brar and NN Ojha. At the time of formation the number of PNB sponsored RRBs were 21 which kept on decreasing along with the amalgamation of rural banks and by 2019 this number was 5. with the merger of United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce into PNB, the PNB sponsored rural banks has increased to 9. In the AIRRBEA Madurai session held in 2017, for the Joint Forum of pnb sponsored rrb unions,the enthusiastic young leaders were promoted in which President Shri Nitin Tyagi and General Secretary Shri Shakti Ahlawat ji were elected with the consent. Now in 14th Guwahati Triennial conference ,the members of Joint forum of PNB sponsored RRBs elected Com. Jibesh Chakraborty as President and Com. Shakti Singh as General Secretary. Joint forum of PNB sponsored RRB Unions objective is to follow up and resolve the staff related pending issues at the PNB level.
